Our
history
PBG communication LTD established in 2003, is a leading organization
with expertise in website design and development. Our key objective
is to offer a variety of personalized and professional website design
and development service tailored to client's specific business requirements.
The spectrum of our website design,
development services, is not limited to web design, web development,
marketing and promotional services only but encompasses various
other tools for business and commerce promotion. We also help corporate
organizations in realizing their business enhancement goals through
a comprehensive set of services aided by our experienced, multi-disciplinary
teams, all under one roof.
The cutting edge technical skill at
PBG is well integrated with creative design concepts and content
that is rich in information. Moreover, our search engine optimization
team ensures that all web sites are designed in accordance with
the fundamental rules of optimization to ensure that the site is
ranked well on all major search engines. We have gained expertise
on revolutionary Internet technologies on a number of platforms.
Unique
selling point
We are unique in so many ways, for instance, our website design
solutions are not only up-to-date and optimized for leading web
browsers but also operational with all varieties of browsers, versions
and computer platforms. Our websites adhere to the various international
norms and regulation on privacy and accessibility for users and
also cater to people with varying degrees of disability.
Actually, a website is for the purpose
of business promotion, and a successful campaign on the internet
requires a bit more than just owning a website. A website, in other
to achieve the most business benefit for an organization, must attract
high traffic and one way is through search engines optimization;
a website has to be registered and optimized in search engines so
that it can appear among the first ten on the list, and that is
what PGB Communication does.
We make sure we register our clients
with major search engines and suggest to them other ways to advertise.
These major search engines are Yahoo, Google, Searchwares and so
on.
We are also into blogging but that aspect has not been popularized
in Nigeria. Most business concerns in Nigeria especially small and
medium scale enterprises are not showing interest in that area.
So what we are doing is creating awareness because they think that
they do not need a website; others feel that they have to grow big
before they can have a website. |
|
|
|
 |
|
But they
must be made to understand that if they are small businesses
and do not have website, they may not have the chances of growing
big at the level they want.
The website allows you to market your product to large number
of people. |
|
| |
|
|
Many third world countries have done this and they have succeeded.
India for instance, embraced the Internet, showcases her products
on the net; and countries of the developed world did business with
them.
There are many companies in the US for instance, who would want
to come to Africa to do business and they need to know what the
country is all about. So if you have a website, explaining the things
you do, or positioned yourself in such away that you can be reached
by those people who are in the line of your business then, somebody
can pick up a phone and call you and that will begin a business
relationship between you and somebody far away.
The designer
and creativity
Web designing goes hand in hand with creativity. You have to know
what your client wants; sometimes clients find it difficult to explain
the kind of thing they need. So you should be able to look at their
businesses and understand what the business is all about and where
the business is going to for you to know how you can help this business;
and that is where creativity comes in.
Many things are involved in web design
for instance; there is what we call Flash Animation that helps to
attract customers to the particular market and package of the client.
There are other dynamic concepts like making inquiries on net, booking
reservation online. And this is quite helpful for the customer because
he can do business 24/7, whenever he wants, and this is convenient
for the client.
So we consider a lot when designing a website; we consider how the
website will help improve the business of our client and that is
what makes us different from others.
Need
for a regulator
There is nobody that is handling regulation for now but many things
are happening in the business. Let us take the host server for example;
many people host their sites in servers that are not really of high
quality. Some individuals who are in web design host people's site
with stolen credit card. These are some of the things that are happening
in web design business and up till this moment, I am not aware of
any body doing anything in respect of regulating the industry.
|
|
|
|
Becoming
a professional web designer
The profession is a dynamic one, so you cannot say that you
have got it all; it keeps on developing, it continues to get
better but to have the basic knowledge can take one at least
3 months.
Search engine optimization
The search engine optimization is all about using special key
words to make one's site attractive to search engines. Search
engines make use of key words to find a site, there are key
words you will use to optimize a site and search engines wouldn't
find them. There are also key words that you will use and search
engine would find them so quickly that they may even be among
the first ten leads.
Competition
We are not scared of that; we have empathy for small businesses.
In fact, we
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
have
always tried to get small businesses involved in benefiting from the
usageof website. Though we have quite a number of big organizations
that are our clients but we are looking at small organizations trying
to help them grow.
We are talking to big organizations to boost their brand image by
subsidizing websites for small businesses organizations. This is because
we strongly beleive that if entrepreneurs are to contribute more meaningfully
to the development of the Nigerian economy, they need to adopt a more
outward oriented strategy, seeking export opportunity or finding ways
to participate in production chains with large producers abroad.
|
 |
|
In view
of this, and as part of its own contribution to entrepreneurial
success in Nigeria, and to the promotion of SMEs as a vehicle
for rapid industrialization, sustainable economic development,
poverty alleviation and employment generation, PBG Communications
has finalized arrangements to roll out 1000 websites for 1000
businesses free of charge.
First, we want SMEDAN to see what we can do before we begin
to talk about partnership. We are planning to embark on advertising
to reach out to the people that would be among the 1000.When
we have seen the result then, we can be faced with SMEDAN and
other interested bodies willing to assist small scale business
in Nigeria.
The future
PBG Communications will continue to grow higher because we have
what it takes. We want to be remembered as the company that
|
|
|
|
|
opened
the eyes of blind businessmen. There are people who want to buy things
but they don't really know what to buy, from whom to buy or where
to buy. So with the website, the company can communicate very effectively
with client and prospect the more.

| Google
in Q3 profit |
 |
Google
has shattered Wall Street estimates in its third quarter, posting
a profit of $1.07 billion, or $3.38 a share, on sales of more
than $4.23 billion.
According to internetnews.com, excluding costs related to employee
stock options, Google earned $3.91 a share, well above the $3.78
a share profit expected by most analysts.
"It's obvious to us that our model continues to work very
well," CEO Eric Schmidt said during a conference call with
analysts. "We're very pleased with our performance in what's

one of the seasonally weaker quarters." After shaking off a
tepid reaction to its second-quarter results in July, Google shares
have been on a tear, rallying up more than $110 a share in the past
month alone.
Its shares closed up $6.14 per, or 1 percent, to $639.62 Thursday
before rallying up more than $6 a share in after-hours trading following
the sensational earnings report.
Google, in just its third year as a
publicly traded company, has ascended to rarefied air and is now
widely regarded as perhaps the most significant bellwether company
in the information technology universe.
And its performance in the past quarter suggests its partners, customers
and shareholders can expect more of the same for the foreseeable
future.

| WiMAX
gets ITU nod |
 |
| The
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has agreed to include
WiMAX technology in the global family of advanced wireless technologies,
making this a major victory for vendors and service providers on
the eve of the World Radiocommunication Conference that the Bush
administration hopes to build on during the next four weeks in Geneva.
“Including WiMAX in the IMT (International
Mobile Telecommunications) category sets the stage for the WRC to
consider the future spectrum availability for further generations
of broadband mobile services,” said Ambassador Richard Russell,
associate director of the White House Office of Science and Technology
Policy and head of the U.S. Delegation.

search engines ‘hijacked’ in China |
US
Internet search engines in China were being hijacked and directed
to Chinese-owned Baidu, analysts said, speculating that the move
was in retaliation for Washington's award to Tibet's exiled spiritual
leader the Dalai Lama.
AFP reports that analysts at Search
Engine Roundtable, a website focusing on Internet search, said Chinese
users trying to search on Google, Yahoo and Microsoft websites were
being directed to the Chinese search engine.
Google confirmed the blocking of its
Chinese search engine and Microsoft said it was looking into the
matter.
"It seems like China is fed up with the US, so as a way to
fight back, they redirected virtually all search traffic from Google,
Yahoo and Microsoft to Baidu, the Chinese based search engine,"
analysts Danny Sullivan and Barry Schwartz wrote at Search Engine
Roundtable.
The authors said it was not clear exactly
how or why the searches were being redirected, but China is known
for tightly controlling the Internet and using a variety of filters
to screen out search results for issues relating to dissidents or
the 72-year-old Tibetan spiritual leader.
